Where it all begins

Author's POV

" Where on earth is she?" Mingyu mumbled, waiting for his bride Ju-hee. The whispers around the wedding altar grew menacing by the second "Where is the bride? Did she run away?" the guests started to wonder. Mingyu's parents were just as nervous as he was. "This won't do at all", Mrs. Kim, Mingyu's mom, muttered as she stormed towards the bride's room, and she was met with an empty room with a torn page that read "I'm sorry, everyone. I never wished for things to turn out this way. -Ju hee". " She really did run away. What do we do, honey? There are thousands of guests present at that altar. Are we really going to tell them that the bride ran away? No, we will be humiliated, we can't let that happen" Mrs. Kim rambled in a panic.

"And we won't" Mr. Kim said firmly. " No one out there knows who the bride is or what she looks like, we will just find a replacement for the time being then we can diccuss on how to proceed further” Mr. Kim suggested. “But, who will stupid enough to agree to this?” Mrs. Kim questioned.

Y/N’s Pov

I stood there resting my head on the cleaning mop, admiring the alluring decorations of the hotel’s wedding altar, praying that I would also have a beautiful marriage. Maybe God heard my plea because I noticed an old couple approaching me. I soon recognised them as the Groom's parents. Shit, I am going to get into trouble for dreaming instead of working. But what I heard next left me stunned."Hey kid, do you do us a favour ?” Mrs Kim asked.

As she explained the situation, I couldn't help but feel flabbergasted but also a part of me was sympathic for the groom, so I couldn’t bring myself to refuse. Mr and Mrs. Kim were delighted to hear my response. I was immediately rushed towards the Bride’s room and in no time, I was dressed in a gown, adorned with jewels and handed a bouquet, walking towards. The whispers amongst the guests commenting on how beautiful I looked made a pink hue evident on my cheeks; thankfully, the veil covered it up. I looked up to Mingyu, a man's name I had learned a few moments ago; his expression was unreadable. I understand him, I mean, the woman he had loved had run off, and he was going to marry a stranger; it would be weird if he looked excited.

As the ceremony began nd we exchanged vows and as soon as the priest said “you may kiss the bride” my body tensed up. Am I really going to lose my first kiss to this hot stranger. When he came close I slightly moved my head back and whispered to only his ear “I am sorry but please don’t kiss me on the lips”, he seemed to respect my wish and kissed my cheek instead. But, that was more than enough to make me flustered, I squirmed as I was shy. I couldn’t believe how my life flipped upside down in these few minutes but here I am married to someone who I have no idea is.

Mingyu’s POV

“ Did she just reject my kiss?”
